I started rowing when I joined Newnham College in September 2017. I have rowed in boats from W3 to W1 and took part in many races, including five sets of Bumps.
The last team I rowed with was the Women's senior squad at Cambridge 99' Rowing Club.

In my final year, I raced in W1 for the first two terms before the pandemic. In first term we won Winter Head. In second term we lost headship during Lent Bumps after a term where all other races were cancelled, but after going down three positions we bumped Emmanuel College back on the final day.
NCBC Committee
I joined the NCBC Committee in April 2018 as a Lower Boat Captain. This role involved recruiting and training new rowers. It have an intense position which required effective communication with my co-LBC to manage emails, training schedules and races.
I was elected to Captain of NCBC in April 2019, taking office in June 2019. In this position I was the head of the boat club and oversaw the training of all crews, coordination of coaches and events as well as being involved in planning the future direction of the club. I built on the achievements of previous captains by organising an international trip to race in Nanjing, China. I also worked with our Development Officer to plan a rowing camp in collaboration with the Fulham Reach Boat Club which aims to raise educational aspirations through rowing. Finally, I successfully set up a new electronic election system, which was the first time the committee elections had been moved online.
As Captain I also had to navigate the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic. This involved moving our squad online, conducting meetings and training over Zoom as well as organising some online races, including Virtual Bumps and the Lockdown Regatta.
